Trick It and Haunt It Read Along
- Narrator: Every Halloween night, grownups give candy to trick-or-treaters in costumes. This one tells the story of how Riley and his friends give candy to his other friends. To find out about it, you can read along with me in your book. You will know it's time to turn the page when you hear this sound.

- Narrator: Let's begin now.
- Narrator: It was Halloween night, and Riley's friends were getting dressed in costumes. Blossona was a witch, Parafly-Lum was a ghost, and Tasha was a mummy. Toby was enlightened.
- Toby: Oh, I know exactly what I want!
- Narrator: Before he knew, Riley's friends left to go get candy.
- (Magical Tune)
- Narrator: At Riley's house, Elycia was placing candy in a dish. Amanda couldn't believe it.
- Amanda: Why is she placing them in a bowl?
- Gina: Because, Amanda, today's Halloween. We'll need lots of sweets.
- Narrator: Now, Amanda could believe. She knows that everyone gets dressed in costumes and kids go out to every house and says, "trick-or-treat". Suddenly, Blossona, Tasha, and Parafly-Lum came over and asked for candy. Elycia puts some candy in their bags.
- Elycia: You know that's the good stuff. Well, kids, you should be on your way.
- Narrator: When they came back, Toby asked them about the candy. It was time for Vivian, Maria, and Chester to put their costumes on next. Meanwhile, outside, Stan and his bandits were spying on them and thinking of a plan to scare Riley and his friends.
- (Magical Tune)
- Narrator: Elycia received another visitor, only this time, it was Vivian, Chester, and Maria. Vivian was a ballerina, Chester was a gentleman, and Maria was a princess.
- Elycia: You three look cute. And I have some goodies for you.
- Narrator: Then she told them about the party they were having, and they would be glad to come. That's when Stan and his gang were outside planning to scare Riley and his friends.
- Sharon: You bet, boss. We won't let them out of our sight.
- (Stan Laughs): It won't fail this time.
- Juan: You know it.
- (Magical Tune)
- Narrator: Riley had turned off the lights because Elycia told him that Stan and his bandits were coming, and that they would scare them. So he and Elycia made sure that Gina and Amanda wore bedsheets to make them look like ghosts. Stan and his bandits stop at the door.
- Juan: Is everything gonna be okay?
- Stan: Of course, Juan.
- Narrator: As they went inside, they heard rattling noises.
- Stan: Joanna, are you rattling to keep up the courage?
- Joanna: No, Stan, I didn't do anything.
- Sharon: I didn't rattle either.
- Stan: Is it the wind?
- Juan: It must be.
- Narrator: Just then, Elycia pulled the trigger and the ghosts appeared and frightened Stan and his friends. Then Selena showed up in her vampire costume, and finally Gina and Amanda showed up in bedsheets, making them look like ghosts.
- Joanna: Please, don't haunt us.
- Narrator: Gina decided to spare them.
- Gina: You know it's not right to visit the same house three times. But we'll both let you go if you run away.
- Stan: We will. We promise.
- Narrator: And out they ran.
- (Magical Tune)
- Narrator: The party of Halloween night was blast! Riley was an orchestra conductor, and Elycia was a punk girl. Riley smiled.
- Riley: They're doing good at this, Elycia.
- Selena: I agree, Riley. Trick-or-treating is for children.
- Elycia: Yep. And it's a good thing I have my own candies at home.
- (The End)
